Oracle has recently released its third major update of this year for HCM Cloud, i.e., Release 19C.

Below are the top 5 features that impressed our consultants at SOAIS:

1. Modern Look and Feel

Some of the commonly used landing pages have got a face lift. They now look consistent to other landing pages that underwent changes in the previous releases. Compensation, Goals, Absences, Performance are some of the landing pages that sport a modern look.

2. REST API for User accounts

We can now handle HCM user accounts from external applications. Assume we are building an application in VBCS where ‘Request Password Reset’ option is provided; this can now be achieved through an API call. With the user account APIs, we can now create, modify, delete accounts, and even add or remove roles from the profile.

3. Talk to HCM Cloud using Digital Assistant

We have been covering Oracle Digital Assistant and its features in our blog section. An interesting addition to HCM Cloud in this latest version is the enablement of Digital Assistant within the application. You can have a casual conversation with the assistant to browse organization directory, check your leave balance and salary details, provide anytime feedback without having to navigate through the application.

4. Approval Delegation

A manager wants to delegate the absence approval of his team to one of his subordinates. What will happen when the subordinate himself raises a leave request? Will it be auto approved, or the manager must approve despite delegating it?

We can now define this by clicking a checkbox. We are glad this option is provided so there is a flexibility in how the delegation transactions are handled.

5. HCM Loader: New business objects

As always, new business objects have been added to assist in data loading. Details like time card information and overtime period can now be uploaded using the new business objects. In Recruiting, new child objects have been added to upload screening packages of a job requisition.

Talk to us to know more about Release 19C, and we will be happy to assist you.
