Microsoft has not enhanced Internet Explorer (IE) to support modern web standards. However, Oracle is working towards fulfilling its own goal of giving exceptional customer experience by leveraging modern web standards.
As IE has not received any major updates other than basic security and technical maintenance, it does not support new web standards, and this may result in a poor user experience. Keeping this in mind and with the commitment to give exceptional customer experience by leveraging modern web standards, Oracle will end support for Internet Explorer.
Post release of 20D Update, IE will NO Longer be supported by Oracle Fusion Applications Web UI and will not deliver any IE-specific fixes. And more importantly some new functionality will not even work with IE after the 20D update.
Oracle embraces modern web browsers that support new web standards and security practices. Oracle recommends users who are currently accessing Fusion application with IE to install one of the following browsers BEFORE Update 20Dto continue using Fusion Application to its fullest potential:
- Microsoft Edge
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
Oracle has shared a follow-up communication to customer in May’2020.
Hence all Oracle customers need to transition to a modern, supported browser as mentioned above BEFORE Update 20D to seamlessly use Fusion Applications UI.
