Key Features of Oracle HCM Cloud 20D update

20D update isalmost there to get released. Few of our customers will get it as soon as first week of November, in every release Oracle introduces new features and enhances existing features.

Below are the top 5 features that impressed our consultants at SOAIS:

1. NEW ENHANCEMENTS TO TRANSACTION CONSOLE

The Resubmit feature has been further enhanced to notify initiator. Now notification mail gets triggered to transaction initiators transaction has been re-submitted and also checks whether the transaction that is being resubmitted has any conflict with other transaction which is in pending or completed state.Administrators can now specify the archive period frequency for each transaction type in the Approval Rules tab.

2.QUICK ACTION ACCESS TO ADDITIONAL PERSON INFO FOR EMPLOYEES, CONTINGENT WORKERS, AND LINE MANAGERS

In HCM Cloud release 20D we can configure additional person information page. This can be accessed by the employees, contingent workers or line manager.

Currently this page is only visible to HR because some user may have configured person Extensible Flexfields (EFFs) that may be sensitive in nature. So page is not displayed out of box. Using Transaction Design Studio (TDS) you can create a rule to determine the person EFF contexts to be displayed for a role.

3.POSITION MANAGEMENT: CREATE RECRUITING REQUISITION DURING POSITION CREATION

Now you can create (Oracle Recruiting) requisition along with the new position from the Request a New Position page or the Duplicate Position action from the Position Details page. Once position is approved then only the newly created requisition gets processed.

4. SECURE ACCESS FOR WORKERS WITH MULTIPLE ASSIGNMENTS

The current out-of-the-box behaviour supports person-based security access, which means a user having access to a person has access to all assignments and personal information for that person. In this update, Oracle managed to change this. A more detailed blog is also there in SOAIS blog on this.

5. ENHANCED TRANSACTION APPROVALS SUPPORT MULTIPLE ASSIGNMENTS IN GLOBAL HUMAN RESOURCES

Approval transaction rules in Global Human Resources have been enhanced to support workers with multiple assignments. Now you have the flexibility to use the management hierarchy of the worker’s assignment for which the transaction is initiated. This is especially useful when workers have multiple or non-primary assignment transactions.

These approval transaction processes now support multiple assignment notifications like:

  • Administer Individual Compensation
  • Administer salary
  • Manage Areas of Responsibility
  • Person External Identifiers
  • Manage Salary
  • Salary History

Skip Costly Rework with Dynamic Change Resiliency

Change resiliency is imperative in ever-evolving IT environments. Our patented object action framework streamlines change management by assigning object definitions to your shared assets. The same object may be used in a thousand automation steps, but it can be easily updated by making one simple change to the model definition. The change automatically propagates to every single instance where that object may have been used without a single line of code or manual human involvement. For more change readiness you can also engage our Impact Analysis for SAP to predict how changes in SAP transports will affect your business processes.

SOAIS Blog – Nuts and bolts of Certify Database Maintenance

One of the key thing, which is often missed by the organizations, who have invested in using Worksoft Certify for automating their Business Process Validation initiatives, is implementing a Database Maintenance Plan. While the business and the test automation consultants get excited about the shiny new thing that they have got and start building the regression suite; planning and executing a database maintenance plan for most of the customers gets pushed down the priority list. However, since all the test assets in Certify are stored in a Database, a robust database maintenance plan is very important to maintain smooth operation of Certify with acceptable performance criteria. The customers usually start facing issues once they have built significant number of Certify processes which they have started executing on regular basis. Such executions add a lot of data to the tables storing results data and increase the overall size of the Certify database.

Worksoft Blog – Process Intelligence: A Multi-Dimensional Approach

The ability to extract process knowledge has become easier through the years. Technology has evolved to the point where we can deploy capabilities that connect at multiple levels to extract different types of process insight. In the past, organizations were forced to spend enormous energy extracting data manually from different applications and databases. Then, they would have to use things like spreadsheets to transform the data and convert it into meaningful information.
