Advanced Encryption of National ID of employees at Database Level and masking of the National ID at Application level

Data encryption algorithms come in two major forms – Symmetric cryptography and Asymmetric cryptography.

Symmetric Encryption – Symmetric encryption involves both encrypting and decrypting a piece of data using the same key.

Asymmetric Encryption – Asymmetric encryption involves the use of a pair of complimentary keys to encrypt and decrypt the data.

Result

National ID was encrypted at database level. Also, as per the business requirement National ID was decrypted using the Decryption algorithm and then masked at application level.
