Chatbot, as we all know,is a computer program that simulates human conversation through voice commands or text chats or both. This is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature that can be embedded and used through any major messaging applications. Having a Chatbot with application is a new trend, which helps customers to address various employee queries.
The customer has an in-house Chat Bot/Outlook Add-on for employees to interact with various services within organization e.g. HR Operations, IT Service etc and was keen to integrate it with their HCM application as well. The requirement was to extend Oracle HCM Cloud functionality using Chatbot so that employees can apply leaves and managers are able to approve it without compulsorily logging into the HCM Cloud application.
To achieve the same we had to make arrangement for below functionalities:
- In Absence Management, applying and approving leaves by use of REST API’s must allowed.
- For Leaves to be approved a 15 digits unique absence entry code is a must and should be available within the application where the approval process flow is to be completed.
While SOAIS team has successfully extended Oracle HCM Cloud to use it through chatbot and outlook add-ons, the customer is delighted to get benefit of it as business productivity has increased andemployee can apply leavesand manager can approve on the fly with in-Line commands or via voice commands.
